Nebraska's Littlest Packer Backer

Meet my adorable, completely squeezable, big brown eyed nephew Jevon! He is 4 months old and just found out that his hands can move things! Good thing he has such a wonderful mommy to take care of his every need and want. Including what to do with his awesome hair!
WE MISS YOU!!!!!

What a crazy week we've had, and it's only boring January! Jacob was "friend of the week" at his Kindergarten class this week. This is a BIG deal. He gets to bring a show-in-tell everyday, a special snack, and mommy gets to come in for the morning. Wow! For snack we made chocolate and sprinkle covered pretzel rods and I was able to go in and read some of his favorite books on Thursday morning. On a side note, he choose " There Are Rocks In My Socks, Said The Ox To The Fox" book which is my old book that I received from my Kindergarten teacher when I had my tonsils out in Kindergarten. Awww. Isn't that cool!!! Very sentimental too me. Anyways, he loved to be the line leader (or in charge of everyone) and I think he stands alittle taller now. It was a great boost to his self-confidence to receive all the positive attention and it was just for him. Tyler will get to be the friend of the week later this year. I thought that it would be a good lesson to learn that not everyone comes at the same time or in two's.

Our week ended with Tyler having pink eye, I decided to paint the toy room in two days (we've had the paint for a year sitting in our basement), and now a crazy Saturday. It is a warmer day and Brian is hoping to get our x-mas decorations put away from outside, at least it's before Valentines Day!

Fab Friday Fun

The boys didn't have school on Friday due to something teacher-ish , so we enjoyed a really fun Friday. It all started with sleeping in, till 7am, then Haley woke up ready to eat. I was still trying to get dressed and ready for the day so I sent the boys into her room to entertain her for a couple minutes. This is the result...

Tyler and Jacob seem to get a real kick out of putting every hair pretty they can find into Haley's hair. The funny thing is that she lets them do it! She stands very still while the boys poke her with all the beautiful colored pretties. It best she learns now that being a girls means we have to go through pain to look beautiful.

So off to the Milwaukee Public Museum we went. The kids and I had a really good time learning about things back in the "old days" and learning about who and what used to lived in Wisconsin. The tee-pee was a big hit. Don't they look excited for mom to take their picture :)

The butterfly exhibit has become their favorite stop. We went in twice to catch butterflies and see how beautiful their wing colors were. Tyler was very proud to have this huge one on his hand.

Jacob kept attracting lots of butterflies with his bright orange shirt. One butterfly did land on Haley and she screamed in terror and no longer wants to visit the butterfly exhibit.

Please, please one family picture for mommy! Why won't that child stay still!

It is sunny and very cold here today. Great time for cleaning and playing the Wii. Have a nice weekend!

Cousin Izzy Comes To Play

We were able to spend some time with cousin Isabella yesterday and the boys loved it!

Jacob and Tyler kept Izzy happy by singing her songs and giving her their stuffed animals for her to eat. She was completely entertained by our loud and crazy house!

At 3 and 1/2 months old, Izzy has just discovered her smile. Tyler was sharing his duckie with her. He has had that duck since he was 6 months old...he still sleeps with it :)

Arrr, if only I could get you into my mouth.

The boys do not have school tomorrow so I am hoping to come up with some winter blues adventures to pass the day by.

Too Cool For School = Cabin Fever!

We're baaaack! After a week of being sick, this family is going stir crazy. I think that we are (cross your fingers) over the hump of icky stomach stuff. Some of the family is still workin' it out but I hope and my washer/dryer hope this all comes to an end soon - no pun intended :)

We are stuck inside because of this crazy deep freeze we are having. The boys have not had school since Wednesday (is it Saturday yet?) and they are bouncing off the walls. I can't say that I blame them as I think I have lost my mind too, it's that or sniffing too much Lysol. So, here is a quick recap of our week.....

Haley had a really rough week but after 48 hours of antibiotics she is a happy toddler once again!

The bored brothers have made Haley their new toy by styling her hair for her. This is only 24 hours into her medicine, not a happy toddler.

Haley's head found the one spot in my house that she could fall on and get her first goose-egg. She is nicely bruised, lumped, and black and blue. She looks tough.

Cabin fever has set in. Tyler and Jacob have made it their job to make their sister look her best!

See what I mean?

Here's to hoping that we can all get some fresh air tomorrow! I think it will be above zero!

More Lysol Please

On Friday afternoon the boys came home from school and Jacob announced how a girl at his table (of four, no desks in Kindergarten) threw-up today. Well he wasn't sitting right next to her, just kitty-corner. But at 1am Sunday morning the stomach flu hit our house. Jacob went for a world record on how many times one child can throw-up. Tyler started about 6 hours later. With Haley throwing in one time so we wouldn't forget about her. I got some sort of bug and Brian was super dad for the day. Haley has something else going on with her, the doctor said it was a bad cold but she is going back in tonight. She has been running a fever since Saturday and she is miserable. So, sorry about no exciting, fun news just complaining about winter colds.

My Little Piggy's

We have been trying to figure out what to do with all this "girl" hair Haley has. The boys are so easy, you just shave off their hair with an electric clipper. But with a girl, she needs a style (and maybe some product too!)
Here is Haley with her new pig-tails. (Please don't look to close at her jagged cut bangs, mommy did it.)

Aren't they super cute from the back!

Past Due, Here's Part 2

Here is the second part to our "mini-vacation."
We surprised the boys with going to Milwaukee Public Museum. They are really into dinosaurs and they have a wing all about fossils and even some dino's put together. They also love learning about what it was like back in the "old days", so there is a wing about what Milwaukee looked liked way back then. Another wing was all about butterflies. It is a air tight room that has tons of butterflies just flying around. Haley even tried getting one to land on her hand. This probably ended up being their favorite part, because they were able to hold real butterflies!! It was nice to have a place to go that was indoors, educational and fun during the winter months. We frequent the Milwaukee County Zoo very often when there is no snow on the ground. Enjoy the pictures!!!

Jacob and Tyler were really into looking at this Triceratops. You are able to get really close to it and they just soak up all the knowledge about this dino stuff.

Brian and the boys checking out the ice cave.

Tyler (giving me the pirate eye...arrr) and Jacob wanted to show Grandpa Andy this fish. Maybe they can catch one of these when camping. :)

Tyler was holding the butterfly on his hand when one just decided to land on his head! He really loved being able to hold and feel the butterflies.

This butterfly took a liking to Brian.

Jacob was so very excited to hold this huge butterfly!

The butterfly wing was ending up to be their favorite part so we did this twice with the promise that we can do it every time we come back.

Happy New Year!
